IPL Procedures
What concerns can IPL treat?
IPL may help reduce unwanted hair and improve the appearance of selected sun spots, pigmentation, redness, and uneven-looking skin tone.
Am I a suitable candidate for IPL?
Suitability depends on your skin tone, treatment area, health history, medications, recent sun exposure, and goals. A consultation is required.
Is IPL appropriate for every skin tone?
No. IPL is not appropriate for every skin type or condition. We carefully assess your skin and recommend an alternative when needed.
How many IPL sessions will I need?
Most concerns require a series of spaced appointments. The recommended number depends on the treatment area, your goals, and your individual response.
What does an IPL treatment feel like?
You may experience brief warmth or a light snapping sensation. Settings are personalized, and your comfort is monitored throughout treatment.
Is there downtime after IPL?
Downtime is generally limited, although temporary warmth, redness, sensitivity, or darkening of treated pigmentation may occur.
How should I prepare for IPL?
Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure, follow your preparation instructions, and tell us about all medications and skincare products you use.
What should I avoid after IPL?
Protect the area from sun exposure and avoid irritating products, excessive heat, and strenuous activity for the period recommended by your provider.
When will I see IPL results?
Changes develop gradually over the following days and weeks. Results vary, and multiple sessions may be required.
Can IPL permanently remove unwanted hair?
IPL provides long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal. Occasional maintenance appointments may be needed.
Can IPL address sun spots, pigmentation, or redness?
IPL may improve selected pigmentation and redness concerns in suitable candidates. An assessment is necessary to determine what can be treated safely.
Can I receive IPL while taking medication or using active skincare?
Some medications and products increase sensitivity to light. Disclose everything you use so we can determine whether treatment should proceed or be postponed.
Why should I avoid tanning before IPL?
Recent tanning can increase the risk of an unwanted skin reaction and may make IPL unsuitable until the tan has faded.
Which areas can be treated with IPL?
Many face and body areas may be treated, depending on the concern and your suitability. We will evaluate the specific area during your consultation.
Skin Treatments
Which skin treatment is right for me?
We recommend a treatment after reviewing your skin, sensitivities, routine, concerns, and desired results.
What happens during a skin consultation?
We discuss your current routine, medications, sensitivities, previous treatments, and goals before recommending an appropriate service.
How often should I schedule a facial?
The ideal frequency depends on your skin and goals. Some clients benefit from regular maintenance, while others follow a targeted series.
How do customized facials, chemical peels, microneedling, and LED therapy differ?
Facials cleanse and hydrate, peels provide targeted exfoliation, microneedling supports skin renewal, and LED offers gentle, non-invasive light therapy.
Is there downtime after a chemical peel or microneedling?
Temporary redness, sensitivity, dryness, or flaking may occur. The amount of downtime depends on the treatment and its intensity.
How should I prepare for a skin treatment?
Follow the instructions provided when booking and tell us about recent procedures, medications, sensitivities, and active skincare products.
When can I resume retinol or exfoliating products?
Timing varies according to the treatment and your skin’s response. You will receive instructions about safely resuming active products.
Can treatments be customized for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes. Products, techniques, and intensity can often be adjusted. Certain active conditions may require postponement or medical guidance.
Which treatments address dryness, uneven tone, texture, congestion, or fine lines?
Several treatments may support these concerns. We will recommend the most appropriate option after evaluating your skin.
Can I schedule a skin treatment before a wedding or special event?
Yes, but timing matters. Schedule early enough to select treatments that support your goals without unwanted event-day downtime.
When will I see results from a skin treatment?
Some clients notice immediate hydration or radiance, while improvements in tone and texture generally develop over time.
Will I need a series of skin treatments?
A single appointment can be beneficial, but concerns involving texture, tone, or visible signs of aging may respond better to a planned series.
Can different skin treatments be combined?
Compatible treatments may be combined or carefully sequenced. We will create a plan based on your skin, comfort, and goals.
What skincare should I use after treatment?
Gentle cleansing, hydration, and sun protection are commonly recommended. You will receive instructions tailored to your specific service.
Professional Makeup
Can you help me choose a makeup style for my event?
Absolutely. Inspiration photos are welcome but not required. We can consider your event, outfit, colors, features, and personal preferences to create a look that feels right for you.
Should I bring inspiration photos?
Yes, if you have them. They help communicate your preferences, although your final look will be adapted to your features, outfit, event, and lighting.
Is a bridal makeup trial necessary?
A bridal trial is strongly recommended and generally takes about two hours. It allows us to refine your look, assess comfort and longevity, and make adjustments before the wedding.
What should I bring to my bridal trial?
Bring inspiration images and, when possible, details about your dress, accessories, hairstyle, flowers, venue, and wedding-day lighting.
How many people can you accommodate, and how long does makeup take?
One artist can typically accommodate six people and, when timing permits, as many as eight. A second artist can be arranged for larger parties. Allow approximately one hour for bridal makeup and 30–45 minutes for each additional person.
How should I prepare my skin for makeup?
Arrive with a clean face unless instructed otherwise. Gentle hydration and consistent skincare can help create a smooth, comfortable finish.
Are false lashes included or available?
Yes. False lashes can be applied at no additional charge if you would like them. We can help select a style that complements your desired look and comfort level.
Can you accommodate sensitive skin or product allergies?
Please let us know about any known allergies or sensitivities, as products can often be adjusted. Your trial is also a valuable opportunity to try different products and see how your skin responds, allowing us to make thoughtful adjustments before your special day and reduce the likelihood of an unwanted reaction.
How long will my makeup last?
Professional preparation and long-wearing products help support lasting wear. Longevity varies with skin type, weather, activity, and aftercare.
Do you offer makeup for events other than weddings?
Yes. Makeup services are available for portraits, headshots, galas, maternity sessions, milestone celebrations, and other special occasions.
Can my bridal look be adjusted after the trial?
Yes. Your look can be refined so the final result feels comfortable, flattering, and true to your personal style.
Do you provide touch-up products or on-site touch-ups?
Touch-up options and extended on-site services may be available. Ask about them when booking so they can be included in your plan.
Can you work with mature, dry, oily, or acne-prone skin?
Yes. Skin preparation, coverage, product selection, and finish are adjusted to your skin and desired result.
Packages and Treatment Planning
What is included in each package?
Package contents depend on your goals. Options may include consultations, bridal trials, event makeup, skin preparation, or a planned IPL or skin-treatment series.
What is the difference between a standard and custom package?
Standard packages offer a clearly structured starting point. Custom packages provide greater flexibility in the services, timing, and treatment combinations selected.
Can I combine makeup, skincare, and IPL services?
Yes, when the services are compatible and appropriately scheduled. A consultation helps us create a safe, coordinated timeline.
How far before my wedding or event should I begin?
Begin as early as possible, especially if you are considering IPL, microneedling, chemical peels, or a treatment series.
How is the order of package appointments determined?
We consider your goals, skin, recovery time, event date, availability, and how each service may affect the next appointment.
Can my package be adjusted after it begins?
Yes. Your plan may be modified as your skin, schedule, priorities, or response to treatment changes.
Are package consultations complimentary?
Consultation policies may vary by service. Contact us for current details and to determine which consultation you need.
Do packages cost less than booking services individually?
Usually, a package offers better value than booking the included services individually. Pricing depends on the selected services and level of customization, and we will review the complete package and pricing before you commit.
Can I share a package with another person?
Packages are generally designed around one client’s needs. Contact us to discuss bridal-party, group, or shared-service options.
What happens if my event date or availability changes?
Contact us as soon as possible. We will review your timeline and make reasonable adjustments, subject to availability and the booking policy.
General and Booking
Do you travel, and is there a travel fee?
Yes, but on-site service is available for professional makeup only. IPL and skin treatments are provided at the Bella La Belle salon. Travel within 20 miles of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, is complimentary for makeup appointments; longer-distance travel may require an additional fee.
Travel Fee CalculatorWhat is the booking process, and which payment methods are accepted?
Contact us to discuss availability. Event dates are secured with a signed contract and 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due on the event day and may be paid by cash, check, or Venmo.
How far in advance should I book?
Booking early is recommended for makeup services, especially for peak wedding-season dates, which may fill up to 18 months in advance. A trial alone does not reserve your event date.
How can I contact you with additional questions?
